Description

The BEATLES      PLEASE PLEASE ME   MONO PMC 1202

 DECCA PRESSING

Matrices: XEX 421-1N  (11) and XEX 422- 1N  (14)

EMI requested DECCA to press some copies of the Beatles first 2 LPs to cope with demand. These are characterised by a thick groove around the label about 2/3 from the centre hole. These are quite hard to find as they only account for a relatively small proportion of Beatles records pressed in 1963/64.

Here is a Decca Pressing of PPM with the vinyl in EXCELLENT visual and audio condition and the labels are bright and clean with minimal makings.

The COVER has a LARGE MONO on the front top and is a Garrod & Lofthouse cover. The overwhelming majority of these LPs are usually found in Ernest J Day covers. The cover itself is in VG+ condition with slight corner wear and the edge of one flipback has just come slightly loose. But there are no writing, stickers or ugly marks only 3 very small red pen dots in the top right hand corner on the rear.

The EMITEX inner sleeve is a ‘tracing paper’ type one in excellent clean condition.

OVERALL, A VERY CLEAN and COLLECTIBLE copy of a DECCA PRESSING of Please Please Me.

All my auctions start at 99 pence only! Thanks for looking and check out my other BEATLES records!
