This is an Original UK second pressing of the Beatles classic debut album Please Please Me. The second pressing was much smaller quantities than all the other pressings of this LP making it very highly prised by collectors, and of course has the beautiful gold lettering on the labels. The sleeve has laminate cracks  and creases to the front (double click the pictures). Beneath the words "and 12 other songs" there is a one and a half inch split to the card stock but considering  this record is 58 years old I think its acceptable. The back of the sleeve top left corner is a cellotape residue mark. Beneath the word The in The Beatles there is another stain I have no idea what that is. There is also foxing and some grubby marks and some damage to the laminate flip backs. Look to the right bottom  corner there is an interesting KT sticker resembling a postage stamp I have never seen one of these before im assuming its something to do with the Tax code but for that you would probably need a Beatles expert for that and that certainly is not me, if anyone can help I would appreciate it. The spine is intact and all the the  spinal writing can easily be read. I would grade the sleeve as Good. The original inner sleeve is in Very Good + condition and contains the words Patents Applied for  and Made in Great Britain at the bottom. The record has marks all all over on both sides but on playback I was completely amazed and totally astounded. These early 60s records are out on their own when  compared to records made in the late 60s onwards, and are a genuine case of "they dont make em like this any more". This in one of the heaviest records I have ever held.  Early 60s records were made with a heavier mix of shellac to the vinyl making them exceptionally durable and hard wearing, which is why this album plays so well. Even the labels were made of durable material and this record has been played and played and played but the labels look fantastic with no spindle marks at all. The outer label with that beautiful gold typeset has slight texture to it, the inner label where the spindle hole is has much heavier texture to it obviously to withstand  heavy play and spindle wear.
Side one BLASTS out and despite the marks to the vinyl plays exceptionally well. The music on this record is unbelievably clear only during the dead wax areas you can  pick up background noise and crackle. The only problem with side 1 is the Track Ask me why has a skip on it the rest of this side plays very well indeed id say 7/10. Side two again is full of marks, neither side has palpable marks on it and again side two plays remarkably well the only problem is the track There`s a place which has 1  skip. The rest of the LP plays incredibly well so again 7/10 due to the marks the grade is Good . If this were mint I suppose it would make 4 figures. A rare record in condition that is Good remember this when bidding. A penny start and NO RESERVE !!!
