The Beatles Please Please Me PMC1202 Mono 4th Pressing with LARGE MONO EJ Day SLEEVE. Black & Yellow parlophone label (4th press)
Description found with the record, we guess, from when our family member who collected these originally bought this record: Pressing Release Information: Fourth pressing, summer 1963 – January 1964. Garrod & Lofthouse Ltd. or Ernest J.Day & Co. front laminated cover, with large “mono” on front. Black label with yellow logo and silver print. “The Parlophone Co. Ltd.” printed at the start perimeter print and “Recording first published 1963″. Tracing-paper-lined “Use Emitex” die-cut inner sleeve. With or without KT tax code on the label. Matrix numbers: Side 1: XEX 421-1N; Side 2: XEX 422-1N.
Matrices:XEX 421-1N; Side 2: XEX 422-1N. Mothers / Stampers: Side 1: 1 5 GGR Side 2: 4 5 GDO Tax Code: M T K stamped around centre hole on Side Two. Condition Vinyl: The record is in excellent condition with only a few feint lines. It’s the best I’ve seen for a long while. RECORD CONDITION: VG++ but nearer excellent. NO really bad scuffs or scratches. Any lines are mega-feint. Condition Labels: Nice clean labels Condition Sleeve: EJ Day 3 flip back sleeve in excellent + condition. Value in the sleeve on this. The ‘flipback’ sleeve by E J Day is also excellent). There’s NO rips,splits,cut outs or writing. Sleeve printed & made by Ernest J.Day & Co.Ltd. London. Laminated on the front cover with diagonal cut flipbacks (later had rounded cut). Large “mono” on cover. SLEEVE CONDITION: Near Excellent. NO rips or writing. Back is very clean and white. Edges are firm and not scuffed. Corners are firm. (tiny wear on one corner, hardly worth mentioning. Best cover I have seen for ages. --END OF DESCRIPTION--
Play tested: Side 1; No skips of jumps some crackles which are most noticed in the silence between the tracks. Side 2: no skips or jumps, again crackles in places.
