Here you have a rare opportunity to purchase not one but two very rare Beatles collectable items relating directly to one another: The Beatles' "Please Please Me" 7inch 45rpm Single- 1st Press 1963 plus the Magazine of their Swedish Tour later that same year.
Why are these items so special?
The Vinyl There are lots of "Please Please Me" Singles on the market, but this one is special and rare because of the following reasons: 1. It is on of the very first singles printed in 1963 from The Beatles' famous album "Please Please Me" 2. The label has no "Made in Great Britain" written on it. 3. The Matrix of this record is the rare 7XCE 17217- 1N and 7XCE 17218- 1N 4. The Tax Code is MPT1 5. The Stampers are GM and GR
The Swedish Tour Magazine Not many people know that the Beatles toured Sweden the autumn of 1963- the same year that they released "Please Please Me". This was before their extremely successful American appearance on the Ed Sullivan show 1964. This piece of memorabilia documents their Swedish tour and it captures that innocent and special moment in time in the early 60's before the start of "Beatles Mania".
Condition of the Items:
The Vinyl The vinyl comes in its original cover which shows expected wear for an item this old. It has a few tears on the edges and shows some discolouration. The disc itself is in a very good condition with light surface scratches visible. I tested the vinyl by playing it and it plays without any skips or jumps and the normal vinyl crackle and pops are audible. This doesn't detract from the audio quality though and lends character to the sound. Many people back in the day wrote their names on the labels of their vinyls and this one is no exception. There is writing on both sides. This adds to the nostalgia of the item, knowing that this was once a loved record in someone's collection- not a brand new soulless CD or MP3.
The Magazine For its age, the magazine is in a very good condition. It does have some tears and shows discolouration, but no pages are missing or loose. There is also some writing on some of the pages. It has also been folded for storage purposes, but was kept in a protective plastic sleeve.
