THE BEATLES - 'PLEASE, PLEASE ME'
This fine early STEREO copy dates from summer 1963 and bears the 3rd variation of the yellow & black Parlophone label: PCS 3042

Both labels omit the 'Sold in UK...' text but carry 'The Parlophone Co...' worded rims

The 'MT' purchase tax code is visible around the side 1 centre hole

Earliest matrix numbers: YEX 94-1 & YEX 95-1

Stamper codes: 1/GR & 1/MT

Disc weight: 170g

Housed in a front laminated, tri-flipback 'Ernest J. Day' printed cover with the large stereo front indicator

Complete with an original poly-lined inner-sleeve

A clean, bright and unworn set with a small number of light spindle trails around each centre hole

Visual: EXCELLENT +

Both playing surfaces are perfectly clean and retain a superb deep-gloss shine with no groove-whitening from overplay. Strong daylight highlights one or two light fingernail scuffs and a single 1cm hairline on side 1, half of which is in the run-out. Closer examination directly beneath my powerful and unforgiving halogen desk lamp reveals some harmless light wispy marks consistent with sleeve removal. This quality heavy copy lies 100% flat when playing on the turntable

Sound Quality: NEAR MINT

Played with care on top-quality equipment, the sound quality throughout is clean, clear & undistorted with no clicks, pops or any trace of any groove/play wear. Apart from a hint of low-level vinyl background between tracks, there is little to fault overall on this gem

Cover: EXCELLENT +

This fine example has spent all its life within a non-smoking environment and retains an unscratched and unworn high-gloss front laminate free from any ringwear, thumbnails or creasing

There is a very light touch of wear to the corner tips, but no heavy bumps or bruising to any

Both opening edges are clean & undamaged with no tears or feathering either side

The rear panel has a hint of toning towards its opening edge but is otherwise clean, white and unblemished

All of the delicate flipbacks are intact and complete with no repairs or missing paper

There is a tiny 1cm piece of loose laminate on the upper seam but this is not stressed or split

The lower seam and the spine are fully intact and unworn
