Description
An original mono 4th press of PPM on the UK Parlophone label from '63. Matrix 1N/1N. Please note the labels do NOT mention the 'Sold In The UK..' statement and this is indicative of an early copy from 1963. The heavy set vinyl [and we mean HEAVY] comes housed in an original Ernest J Day cover - as all early copies were. Also included is an original Emitex inner sleeve. So, 100% genuine and 100% complete.
Vinyl (Ex+) Wow - 1963 mono looking this darn good is a difficult find. Under close inspection we could only only make out a couple of very light marks, and one longer super-light trail... nothing remotely troublesome. Please note this LP is exhibiting very slight wobble at the edge - I'm mentioning it to be 100% upfront/transparent as I can possibly be. It's <1mm in amplitude and below practical measurement. Please be 100% reassured that is does not feature in any audible way - not remotely..I have checked very very carefully. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals an EXCELLENT+ level of playback. Intros and inbetweens are practically silent and the audio comes across with perfect clarity. I can honestly say it's in the top couple of copies I've ever auditioned. Nothing but beautiful clean audio - even in the quieter tracks. FINAL UPGRADE.
Cover (Ex-) In great shape and has clearly been looked after down the years. The front is nice shiny unaged condition - just that one crease in the bottom right corner. The rear seems to have avoided the usual ageing process - just a couple of light blotches..but way better than most copies. Edge wear is light and the spine is 100% intact. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity and this is in-part thanks to a very heavy card construction.
Inner (Ex-) Very little ageing. No side splits or writing/marking.
