The Beatles PLEASE PLEASE ME mono PMC 1202
This is a very nice 5th pressing with ‘Sold in UK…’ on the labels with ‘The Gramophone Co Ltd…’ around the rims of the labels. It has a nice strong KT tax coding on side 2 and has matrices XEX 421-1N and XEX 422-2N respectively.
I would date this copy to around 1966/67.
The record is in EXCELLENT visual and audio condition. There were a few clicks on side 1 (nothing to distract) but side 2 was virtually flawless sound! There are minor surface marks only visual on the vinyl. There are minimal spindle markings, showing generally that the record has been well looked after and had fewer than average plays.
The Garrod & Lofthouse Patents Pending flipback cover is also in EXCELLENT condition. It has the smaller mono on the front (compared to the earlier pressings) and also has a pinched spine about 2 cm from the top and bottom of the spine, again indicative of a later pressing. There is a small discolouration marks on the back but overall with no marks or writing it is a very strong example of a record cover almost 45 years old!
It has a plain white inner bag with ‘Patent Applied For’ and ‘Made in England’ in small print at the bottom. This has no rips or tears and is in excellent condition.
