Description
Selected titles from the private collection of a music business veteran are now being made available for the first time. Titles offered by this Seller are one-owner and came directly from the pressing plant, record company warehouse, other label reps or record store unless otherwise noted.
Grading is based on visual inspection.
Album ships in a 2 MIL poly cover sleeve.
- This Numbered, Limited Edition Promo is on Yellow Vinyl.
- The number is: 9589
- The sticker on the back cover has the number and "Not For Sale".
- This copy is in factory sealed shrink wrap. The shrink shows no shelf wear.
- Sealed items are Final Sale in As Is condition.
- So if it's sealed how do I know its yellow vinyl? The shrink and inner sleeve both have a split along the opening edge and I can see the records is yellow.
- A 12-page color souvenir program is included.
- The Free Promotional 45 RPM 7" single is in a picture sleeve. One side is a medley of songs from the album. The medley is not on the album. The other side is "Fab Four On Film" The Beatles talk about A HARD DAY'S NIGHT-1964. This interview from 1964 is not on the album.
- Seller acquired this from Capitol in the mid-eighties. That's why is has a higher number. Capitol held back quite a few of the numbered Promos.
- The album and single have been in storage for about 30 years.
Unique mixes
This album features stereo mixes that were rare to the US or previously unavailable:
- The first US release of the British stereo mix of "I Am the Walrus". Previous American releases of the song had the intro edited like the mono mix, although an edit of the British version appeared on Rarities two years before;
- The official American debut of the songs "A Hard Day's Night" and "Ticket to Ride" in true stereo;
- A unique stereo edit of "I Should Have Known Better", with the harmonica error in the intro fixed. This version was issued only on the Capitol pressing and has never appeared on any other record
All songs written by John Lennon and Paul McCartney.
