RARE mono FIRST PRESSING, WITH ALTERNATE VERSION OF TOMORROW NEVER KNOWS, SIDE 2 MATRIX XEX 606-1, RESPECTABLE EXAMPLE, WITH GARROD & LOFTHOUSE SLEEVE.
Album Description and Condition:
This original 1966 UK mono, 1st Issue Parlophone Vinyl LP is on the traditional Black and Yellow Parlophone Label, with ‘The Gramophone Co Ltd’ label rim, with ‘Sold in UK…..’ and ‘Made in Gt. Britain’ label text.
This Revolver Album with the side 2 matrix XEX 606-1 is the rarest produced version of what is widely regarded as The Beatles most creative and finest work. It contains a unique extended mix of the simply magnificent track 'Tomorrow Never Knows' which has never been issued on any subsequent release of 'Revolver'.
Both record labels are in Very Good Plus condition, showing several centre spindle lines to each record label.
Both sides of the Vinyl Disc are in (VG)Very good condition, showing surface hairlines and light surface scratches.
Having played the album, the play quality is much better than the visual, there is some mild background crackle, with the odd click, the sound quality is much better than expected, the surface marks do not cause any skips.
Side 1 matrix: XEX 605-2 and Side 2 XEX 606-1.
Side 1 stampers: 2 T and Side 2: 1 P.
There is an embossed ‘KT’ tax/price code visible to the centre of the side 1 record label.
The LP comes in it’s original White Made in Great Britain inner bag, the bag shows light creases.
The Vinyl LP is housed in it’s original, Front laminated, Garrod & Lofthouse Ltd, sleeve, printed ‘mono’ to the top right hand corner.
The Garrod & Lofthouse sleeve is in (VG) Very Good condition. The front laminated panel still retains its gloss, with mild corner bruising to each corner, and a small ½” split to the top edge. The back panel shows ringwear and light age toning to the flipbacks and opening edge.
Not in top condition, nevertheless a very playable LP, and overall a respectable example of this Iconic rare Variant Beatles UK FIRST ISSUE Album.
