Condition report
Cover: The original laminated Garrod and Lofthouse flipback is in poor to fair condition. It is intact with usual minor scuffs and discolouration. The spine is good with a few creases and is fully readable. Unfortunately there are incipient splits on both top and bottom edges. Also some wag please see photos) including nice schoolboy touches such as blocking out Ringo’s teeth and putting a bolt in John’s neck!
Labels are clean and unmarked – quite a few spindle marks so a solid VG+
Vinyl (visual): The record has obviously been played many times in its 51 years on this planet. There are numerous wispy paper scuffs and a few superficial scratches visible under strong light., so grades as G+ by my reckoning.
Vinyl (audio). The record plays through with no sticks, loud pops or clicks. One tiny skip towards the end of Good Day Sunshine. There is some light background crackle and occassional hiss audible in quieter moments such as in Eleanor Rigby and also very slight distortion in louder moments of taxman etc. It would probably benefit from a professional clean. Otherwise it has a nice warm sound as you would expect from a first press vinyl of this period. Overall a good G+
