Overall Description
Though of course today most Beatle fans are familiar with the band's discography and evolution, but I can't even begin to imagine how the average listener must have felt after listening to Revolver for the first time in its initial release. What thoughts and opinions its music must have conjured up, and of course the immense curiosity of what was to come. This was the album that separated The Beatles from all of their contemporaries, and a defining statement that this band was miles ahead of everyone else and destined to be remembered as much more than just 4 guys in a band. Revolver is forever to be remembered as one of the first Psychedelic albums that truly defined the genre. This is an album that must be heard, and in its versatility, there is something for every Beatle fan, regardless of what era in their music you're most fond of.
Here we have an original 1966 UK press of that very record, and it’s in lovely condition!!
It’s one of the earliest presses that lists “Dr Robert” on both the sleeve and label, all later presses had “Doctor Robert”!!
The label has the “The Gramophone…” radius text and the “Sold in the UK” running through the middle, and as with all the very earliest presses has each track given its own line!!
The KT tax code is present on the labels!
The record and sleeve are in really nice clean condition and the sound is superb!!

Outer Sleeve
The beautiful 1st press Garrod and Lofthouse front laminated flip back outer sleeve is in really nice condition! There are no rips, tears, writing or stains to speak of!! The sleeve sits nice and flat and the edges are still nice and sharp with only minor shelf wear to the corners. The rear which is unlaminated and open to damage is in superb condition as well. The spine is nice and straight and the text perfectly readable. A superb outer sleeve that won’t disappoint! Excellent
Labels
The wonderful yellow and black labels are in splendid condition, with no rips, tears, stains or writing. There is no centre hole damage and to the naked eye look brand new!! Under a strong halogen, only a few invisible spindles appear and it’s clear to see this record has been looked after!! Excellent+
Inner Sleeve
The plain white original inner sleeve is in lovely condition with no rips, tear or stains!! Just some mild folding to mention, other than its near perfect!! Excellent
Vinyl Visual
The record looks brand new, it really does. Under a strong light, some of the faintest of hairlines can be seen, but these are more likely removal marks, that have absolutely no effect on playback and cannot be felt. There is no warping whatsoever; it still retains its factory shine and lustre!! Excellent +
Vinyl Audio
. The record played through sublimely! There were no skips or jumps at all. There was no distortion at all. It sounds perfectly clear. All the dynamics of the band coming through as they should, with no distortion or unwanted noise. The super thick 1st press vinyl is the way that this record should be heard, it really is. It’s a strong punchy audio from start to finish!! There is some minor crackle in between tracks but none on the music at all!!! Excellent
Overall
So there we have it, a superb clean copy of one of the greatest records all time!!
This really is a once in a lifetime opportunity!!
