Description
One of the very first pressings - XES 605-2/XES 606-1 on the black and yellow Parlophone label with the KT Tax Code and 1R/1G Mother Stamper. Highly sought after, this earliest "606-1" pressing has the rarer Ernest J. Day flipback cover and the withdrawn mix for "Tomorrow Never Knows" with the additional piano fade out. It also has the incorrect "Dr. Robert" listings on the label and cover which should be "Doctor Robert." It also has the incorrect full stop on the Side One label which reads "Sold in.U.K." instead of "Sold in U.K." The vinyl has inevitable scuffing and background crackle with a slight jump on "Taxman" but the overall sound quality is extremely good. It has only been played once in the past 40 years to assess sound quality for this listing. The cover is slightly frayed and there is a lightly adhered "Harlequin Record Store" sticker on the back as shown in the photograph. It comes complete with the Emitex inner sleeve. As described, the record isn't in A1 condition but it is such a rare and collectable album, I am happy to start with a really low price and no reserve.
