This is a rare and unusual item, we think that the case has been replaced with an american cover. The matrix and other numbers on the record suggest it is first print and that it was made in Great Britain. If you have any questions please call us. Please see photo's

First pressing, August 5, 1966. “Remix 11” mispressing. Side 2 matrix no.: XEX 606-1 have “Remix 11” of “Tomorrow Never Knows”. When “Revolver” was initially mixed a different master for “Tomorrow Never Knows” was sent off to be pressed. This mix is known as ‘Remix 11’. Although subtle, it is different to the standard ‘Remix 8’ which was ultimately to replace it. The story goes that each group member was given the first copies from the production line and John went to listen to it. But, it turned out that he was unhappy with the mix or that the wrong one had been used and he informed George Martin. Production was then stopped as the new masters were cut and the pressing plates were replaced. First presses have a side 2 matrix number of XEX 606-1 whereas the standard presses have XEX 606-2 and beyond.

Revolver is the seventh studio album by the English rock band the Beatles. It was released on 5 August 1966 in the United Kingdom and three days later in the United States. The record spent 34 weeks on the UK Albums Chart, for seven of which it held the number one spot. Reduced to eleven songs for the North American market, Revolver was the last Beatles album to be subjected to Capitol Records' policy of altering the band's intended running order and content. In America, the album topped the Billboard Top LPs listings for six weeks.

The album marked a progression from their 1965 release Rubber Soul and heralded the band's arrival as studio innovators. On release, Revolver was praised by British critics, and regarded by some as a forward-thinking album, yet its reception in America was muted initially, due to the controversy surrounding John Lennon's statement that the Beatles had become "bigger than Jesus". The album's influences and sounds include the incorporation of tape loops on the experimental "Tomorrow Never Knows", the use of a classical string octet on "Eleanor Rigby", and the Indian-music setting of "Love You To". Together with the children's novelty song "Yellow Submarine", "Eleanor Rigby" became an international hit when issued as a double A-side single. The album's US release coincided with the Beatles' final concert tour, during which they refrained from performing any of the songs live.

In the UK, Revolver's fourteen tracks were released to radio stations throughout July 1966, with the music signifying what author Ian MacDonald later described as "a radical new phase in the group's recording career". Aside from methods such as varispeeding, reversed tapes, and close audio miking, the sessions for the album resulted in the invention of automatic double tracking (ADT), a technique that was invented by engineers at Abbey Road studios, and was soon adopted throughout the recording industry. The sessions also produced a non-album single, "Paperback Writer" backed with "Rain", for which the Beatles filmed their first on-location promotional films.

Revolver's cover artwork, designed by Klaus Voorman, earned the Beatles the 1966 Grammy Award for Best Album Cover, Graphic Arts. The album was ranked first in Colin Larkin's book All-Time Top 1000 Albums and third in Rolling Stone magazine's list of the 500 greatest albums of all time. In 2013, after the British Phonographic Industry had changed its sales award rules, Revolver was certified platinum in the UK. The album has been certified 5x platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America.

This record has not been tested. It has some light surface scratching as you would expect of any record this age. Nothing to deep and shouldn't prevent playback. As you would expect from any record of this age the case has some general wear. Please see photo's.

Timing and Method. We are usually able to send out purchased items within 3 working days of receiving payment. For specialised, large or fragile items such as chandeliers, this can sometimes take longer, but we'll always liaise with you immediately after purchase for preferred methods of delivery, costs and timing. Smaller items will be carefully parcelled and usually sent via either Royal Mail Tracked service or My Hermes. Collection Only Items - For many of our larger and more fragile items, we prefer to sell as collection only. However we will work with our purchasers to arrange a delivery if collection is not an option. 

UK Shipping. We ship throughout the UK, and we will use your address as provided on the eBay system unless instructed otherwise. Please note deliveries to Northern Ireland, the Scottish Highlands and the Channel Islands will sometimes incur a surcharge, so if you require delivery to any of these regions please let us know prior to bidding if the cost is a factor of your proposed purchase, or prior to payment of invoice if it isn't.

International Shipping. We are able to ship most items to most addresses throughout the world. Please contact us prior to bidding for a price.

PAYMENT INFORMATION

The simplest and easiest way to pay is by Paypal or Direct Bank Transfer. You can also pay by Cheque or Postal Order, or you can pay in person at our London offices. 

We would ask the payment is made immediately upon purchase, and certainly within 3 days of the auction close, unless otherwise agreed with us prior to bidding. We are reluctant to open unpaid item disputes, but we will open a case if no payment has been received and our payment reminders go unanswered. We file non-paying bidder disputes automatically with eBay, therefore it is imperative you contact us should you have any problems meeting our payment terms.

RETURNS

If your item is not as described or if it is faulty we refund immediately including all postage costs, once the item has been safely returned to us. If the item is unwanted or has been ordered by mistake, refunds will be given if the item is returned within 14 days, but the purchaser will be responsible for all postage costs.
