Original 1st Japanese pressing of The Beatles “Revolver”. The release of this album in Japan occurred on October 5, 1966, exactly two months after the release in the UK. The 1st Japanese pressing of “Revolver” is perhaps one of the rarest Beatles records among the Japanese issues, especially in such condition. This outstanding full set copy is in Near Mint condition. If you’re passionate about collecting 1st Japanese Beatles issues then this copy will be the final upgrade of this album in your collection. We’d like to start the description with the unique catalog number OP-7600. Please pay attention that on the second pressing the catalog number was changed to OP-8443. The presence of the original obi strip on Japanese issues is one of the important factors affecting their value. The copy currently listed for an auction contains the 1st pressing Odeon light blue / white so-called “Sankaku” (triangle) V-shape obi with the ¥1750 price. If you see a copy of this album with a green “arrow” obi having the ¥2,000 price then please note that it’s the second Odeon pressing dating August 1, 1968 (This is the exact date as we’ve used the original Japanese “Ganko Music” LP Guides). If you at some point decided to collect Japanese Beatles issues because of their design, high-quality paper and polygraphy then we perfectly understand you. Indeed, it’s hard to resist the quality that impresses you. Gorgeous single-type hard twin flip-back laminated high gloss cardboard cover. The front cover contains the 1st pressing catalog number OP-7600 and “Stereo” banner which are also present on the back cover and spine. The back cover has a very interesting detail that most of the time no one pays attention to, which is the embossed “PAT. P.” stamp underneath the obi strip at the bottom right corner (Photo #6). Right above the stamp, the back cover has the print with the ¥1750 price that is also reflected on the obi strip. This 1st pressing copy includes the original rice paper color flap over top “EverClean Records” inner sleeve with adverts for other Toshiba / Odeon releases. The album also comes with the original 4-page insert which contains not only the very detailed article about the band and "Revolver" album in Japanese but also all of the album’s song lyrics in English. Original very early thick heavy weight red wax antistatic vinyl 1st pressing with 1st matrix numbers in the trail-off wax vinyl (dead red wax): Side 1 - YEX-605 15 EVERCLEAN RECORDS SYMBOL I6 / Side 2 - YEX-606 17 EVERCLEAN RECORDS SYMBOL. In 1958, Toshiba Musical Industries Ltd, one of the two or three large manufacturers of records in Japan, began pressing colored vinyl records, with the introduction of their red, “EverClean” vinyl. This vinyl compound was created in order to be more resistant to static electricity, and was intended to help prevent records from accumulating dust. Toshiba pressed red colored vinyl records from 1958 through early 1974, though they often coexisted on the shelves with black vinyl pressings.

The stunning high gloss cover has been preserved beautifully and is in Near Mint condition, almost Mint Minus, just like the original blue / white obi strip. The original inner sleeve with a flap over top and 4-page insert are in Near Mint condition. The beautiful red wax vinyl is in Near Mint condition and practically has no surface hairlines or scuffs. The clean labels are in Excellent Plus condition and are scuff- and wear-free. The vinyl sounds amazing with just some very light occasional static that most likely will go away if the record is professionally cleaned using a VPI cleaning machine.
