Description

An original AUTUMN 1966 original heavy-set mono UK Parlophone Revolver. Matrix 2/3. Lovely solid pressing as you would expect from the early mid-sixty originals. A really well preserved original - not abused like so many other copies. The vinyl comes housed in an original mono cover. There's also an original mid-sixties Emitex inner too. 
Vinyl (Ex/Ex-) In super condition and has only seen light use. Under close inspection there are a few lightest marks per side - nothing remotely troublesome though. For the vintage it looks really good. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals a mostly EXCELLENT level of playback with a couple of minor deviations. Intros and inbetweens are lovely and quiet and the audio comes across with excellent clarity. Given the vintage - very impressive. And remember by a law of averages most original copies are not going to sound great. If you have found a really decent quiet player - YOU HAVE DEFIED THE ODDS. Both Revolver & Pepper are actually pretty fussy recordings - and finding original copies is not all the difficult. What is difficult is finding really great playing examples. A couple of crackles in a couple of spots in 'Rigby' - this is far better than the typical rendition. You can hear all those low-key mutterings that 50/50 copies just aren't quite able to resolve. Lovein' it. A few minor crackles over the super fussy sitar notes of the 'Love You To' intro. HTE plays much better than you typically find with an occasional light static crackle. This track nearly always presents problems in the audio. Not here. A couple ticks in the final second of fade-out on 'For No One'...Overall a super original copy for a true collector. Should suit pretty much anyone - even those with fussy tastes!
Cover (Ex-) Difficult to find in really great condition - but this example is a cut above the average copy. Nice clean front with just a couple of minor creases toward opening. The rear has avoided much of the usual ageing and wear. It looks very tidy. Flipbacks are all well preserved and there's little edge wear. The spine is 98% intact. the only one issue is the spine has tarnished a somewhat. Don't miss that! Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity.
Inner (Vg) Minimal ageing. Sides have split and been taped up.
