Description
The Beatles Revolver Mono LP 1st Press "Remix 11" XEX 606-1 Parlophone PMC 7009.
This is the first pressing of Revolver, denoted by the XEX 606-1 matrix on Side 2. Subsequent pressings had -2 and onwards in the matrix.
Other information to confirm this is a genuine 1st press:
- E.J.Day & Co. front laminated flapjack cover with small "mono" on the front, and with "Dr. Robert" (not Doctor Robert) song credit on the back side.
- Side A Matrix XEX 605-1 / Side B Matrix XEX 606-1
- Black label with yellow logo and silver print.
- "The Gramophone Co. Ltd" printed at the start of the label perimeter print, and "Sold in U.K. subject to....." text beneath the Parlophone name.
- Black & White LP advertising inner sleeve.
- Side 2 label has Dr. Robert misprint
- Side 1 label has "Taxman" and "Eleanor Rigby" song titles on separate lines - later pressings have them on the same line.
- Each song title is followed by song credits and then lead vocalist. This was reversed on later pressings
The sleeve is rated as Very Good. It shows signs of wear through usage and storage, but there are no splits or tears and there are no pen markings or stickers. The laminated finish is in very good order with just the slightest of lifting in one place next to the spine.
The vinyl is rated as a strong Very Good. Despite numerous surface marks through handling and playing, there are no deep scratches or other marks that affect playback. Surface noise is minimal, and doesn't impact the listening experience. Were it not for 2 noticeable clicks in Yellow Submarine, this would be a VG+ rating.
The original inner sleeve which is a black & white advertising sleeve is included. There are seam splits to the bottom and one side through usage.
