Description
Selling this record on behalf of my dad, who has previously tried to sell it independantly on this site and then had it returned due to his poor descriptions. Due to that, there's a chance you might have seen this LP up for sale in recent weeks.
Please bear in mind this record is not mint, nor is it the Remix 11 version. When summed to mono it's still a competent listen though!
Matrices: XEX 605 - 2, XEX 606 - 3
This record also has the "Dr. Robert" Error on the labels which was corrected in later pressings
Please note that the original mono pressing of this album specifically was very compressed and cut a little quiter than other Beatles albums from the time. This type of record cutting can often wear a lot easier, and never sounds truly "High Fidelity" in my opinon. The stereo pressing seems to lack a lot of this comrpession and is what I personally prefer, even if it's not the band's original intention. The mono mix definitely sounds more gritty, which some argue fits better with the music.
Vinyl: Visual - G - The album has a fair few amount of sleeve removal marks, scuffs and hairlines and also a couple of deeper scratches on both sides.
Play grade - No higher than VG - There is a fair amount of surface noise, crackles and pops but these only prominently come up in the quiter tracks and if you sum your stereo cartridge to mono, it can still make for an alright listening experience! I've had a couple of these pressings over the years before ditching them for my preferred stereo version but this LP is definitely one of the better ones, coming from my dad's loft after being stored for quite a while.
Cover - VG+ - The cover is a real gem, still in very nice shape after all the years. It has a small few points of wear, on the corners and on the opening but this is definitely better than the majority of the revolver covers out there, as they had a tendency to yellow with age if they weren't stored correctly. This copy only has some very slight yellowing where the laminate ends at the opening, it's quite nice indeed!
