Description
In this auction:
· “REVOLVER” LP by the Beatles
· This LP is Capitol Records T - 2576.
· This is a MONO (monaural) PRESSING.
· This LP was issued August 8, 1966.
· This LP is a FIRST PRESSING MONO ISSUE. This is confirmed by the labels. First Pressing Labels credit the songs to “Lennon-McCartney”. (The Second Mono pressing credits the songs to “John Lennon-Paul McCartney”.)
· The COVER has a PUNCH HOLE at the top right corner which means that this LP is a “DESIGNATED PROMO” issue.
· The COVER is a Capitol-marked cover and the cover cardboard construction with the front cover slick overlapping the rear slick is the correct cover to go with this 1966-pressed vinyl. The COVER has NO NUMBER printed at the lower right corner of the rear cover which indicates this to be a cover issued with vinyl pressed at Capitol’s Scranton plant from 1964 through 1966.
· The VINYL has NO PRESSING PLANT SYMBOL in the trail-of wax which confirms that the vinyl was ALSO pressed in Capitol’s Scranton Plant. Thus, the COVER contains the CORRECT VINYL pressing.
· NOTE: Some sellers will switch vinyl and covers, either intentionally or accidentally, in order to create a Near Mint, though mismatched, LP to sell. I don’t do that. This is the correct cover paired with the correct vinyl for this pressing/issue.
· The COVER is graded NEAR MINT MINUS and is STILL PARTIALLY in its ORIGINAL SHRINK WRAP. Part of the shrink wrap on the front is missing in the area from the bottom right corner at the opening to John’s face in the middle to the promo punch hole at the top right corner. But this area of the front cover exposed by the missing shrink wrap is NICE and CLEAN and WITHOUT ANY WEAR. There is also a very small piece of shrink wrap 2 inches X ½ -inch missing on the front cover at the bottom left corner at the base of the spine. There is a tiny bit of wear near the base of the spine due to that bit of missing shrink wrap. The shrink wrap on the rear cover is complete and without any tears or missing portions. It’s definitely a NICE-LOOKING COVER FOR THIS FIRST MONO PRESSING in VERY NICE CONDITION.
· The VINYL is in STRONG VG+ CONDITION with some very light surface hairlines/scuffs. The vinyl has lots of gloss.
· First Pressing MONO “REVOLVER” LPs, were issued by Capitol Records with ORANGE CAPITOL INNER SLEEVES. The inner sleeve included in this auction is not only the CORRECT CAPITOL INNER SLEEVE, but it is also the ORIGINAL CAPITOL INNER SLEEVE issued with this LP, because it has the “DESIGNATED PROMO” punch hole in its upper right corner that matches up with the cover’s punch hole. This INNER SLEEVE is NEAR MINT. It’s FLAT and has NO SPLITS.
A VERY NICE ORIGINAL 1966 1st PRESSING MONO ISSUE of this BEATLES LANDMARK LP to add to your vinyl collection!!!
