The Beatles ‎– Revolver

First issue with XEX 606-1 matrix number on Side 2 contains withdrawn version ("Remix 11") of "Tomorrow Never Knows".

Dr. Robert on both record label and sleeve (earliest version).

Flipback cover. The runouts are stamped.

Original 'Use Emitex' Inner. Contrary to some claims regarding the 'Patent Pending' inner sleeves, these were gradually introduced in the August of 1966. The very earliest copies such as this one, had an Emitex sleeve. This LP came from a collection of over 90 1st and 2nd pressings from a serious collector, all with original sleeves. I fail to see why he would have replaced a sleeve with an older one. Please research this on Google. If you follow the example below, there are links to research articles. The 'Patent Pending' sleeve applies to later matricies only and is essentially a forum fallacy.

The "Emitex" inner sleeve, a polyethylene-lined paper sleeve, was indeed used for early pressings of The Beatles' Revolver album, but it was phased out by August 1966. First pressings of Revolver in the UK would have initially included the Emitex inner sleeve, along with the Garrod & Lofthouse flipback cover. 

Printed and made by Garrod & Lofthouse Ltd. (different to the other slightly later withdrawn Version which has Ernest J.Day & Co. Ltd., London.)

So, in conclusion, all the evidence combined suggests that this is the earliest version of Revolver and hence a very rare copy.

We Grade your record carefully following the Record Collector Guide using many years of experience. However, grading is ultimately subjective and despite being very strict, we may not always please everyone. Please do not leave negative feedback if you are not fully satisfied. We offer a full No Quibble Return, Swap or Refund and we are here to help.

In order to assist everyone who buys and sells rare discs, Record Collector magazine has originated a set of standards for the condition of second-hand records, cassettes and CDs. Anyone buying or selling records through the magazine must use our conditions to state what amount of wear and tear the disc, its sleeve and/or contents have been subject to. The seven standard condition categories, and a description of what each one means, are listed below:

MINT (M) : The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition. Records advertised as Sealed or Unplayed should be Mint.

EXCELLENT (EX): The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.

VERY GOOD (VG): The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.

GOOD (G): The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discoloration, etc.

FAIR (F): The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump. The cover and contents will be torn, stained and/or defaced.

POOR (P): The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.

BAD (B): The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection-filler.
