1966 UK 1st *MONO* PRESSING LP
**EXCELLENT**
This superb example includes the withdrawn "Remix 11" version of "Tomorrow Never Knows", available only on copies with the XEX 606-1 side 2 matrix.
Outstanding 1966 1st MONO pressing is on the black & yellow Parlophone label: PMC 7009
Both labels carry the 'Sold in UK..' text & 'Gramophone Co..' rims.
This earliest of copies bears the initial 'Dr. Robert' spelling on the side 2 label.
The 'KT' tax/price code is visible in the centre of the side 1 label.
Housed in a front laminated, tri-flipback 'Ernest J. Day' printed mono cover.
Complete with its original 'Patents Applied For' plain white inner-sleeve.

Black and Yellow Parlophone label with silver print:
the name "THE GRAMOPHONE CO. LTD.(capital letter)" on the outer rim, the "SOLD IN U.K." remark, and the "(P) 1966" statement.
Sleeves for "Revolver (mono)" did two London’s of printing house: Ernest J. Day & Co Ltd. and Garrod & Lofthouse Ltd. This issue has a sleeve made by Ernest J. Day.
The mono and stereo releases were issued in separate catalog number series until early 1966. In 1966, the catalog number series was restarted at 7001 with mono and stereo releases now having the same catalog numbers.
First pressing with mispressing. Side 2 matrix no.: XEX 606-1 have "Remix 11" of "Tomorrow Never Knows". When "Revolver" was initially mixed a different master for "Tomorrow Never Knows" was sent off to be pressed. This mix is known as "Remix 11". Although subtle, it is different to the standard "Remix 8" which was ultimately to replace it. The story goes that each group member was given the first copies from the production line and John went to listen to it. But, it turned out that he was unhappy with the mix or that the wrong one had been used and he informed George Martin. Production was then stopped as the new masters were cut and the pressing plates were replaced. First presses have a side 2 matrix number of XEX 606-1 whereas the standard presses have XEX 606-2 and beyond.
First label has Sans-serif print and song name “DR. ROBERT” on the Side 2.
