Description
The Beatles
Revolver
This is the UK 1st STEREO Press of 'Revolver' by The Beatles. This rare press has the very earliest YEX 605-1 / YEX 606-1 matrix and the label includes the 'Sold In UK' and 'Gramophone Company' label text. The sleeve is complete with Stereo corner text and is the earliest 'patents pending' laminated flipback Garrod & Lofthouse sleeve.
The original and earliest Garrod & Lofthouse 'Patents Pending' flipback laminated sleeve is in Very Good+ condition. The white is bright, the black is solid and the laminate is extremely flat and has a stunning shine. There is hardly any laminate creasing. It is probable that the cover has been taped along the bottom edge at some point; there is very minor discolouration on the front and reverse. Hence the grading at VG+.
The record is in Near Mint condition. The vinyl still has the most incredible original bright gloss, there are no play marks at all. It is absolutely superb. On playing the sound is rich, exceptionally vibrant and as clear as the day it was pressed. Both labels show a few spindle marks under light but I would hazard that the record has been played no more than a dozen times.
