Description
Up for auction is a fab Capitol Record Club early pressing of Revolver still in original shrink-wrap. Label is the familiar late-60's lime green with 'target' Capitol logo. Cover is black-bordered with 3 white stripes at top and '16' in white box at bottom right-hand back corner, under RIAA logo, indicating the pressing plant of said record.
Record and jacket are both strong EX (or NM-) and the vinyl is being playtest-verified as I write this. Sound is superb and virtually noise-free, despite any visual surface scratches. Hard to find these in this shape and, again, I emphasize the sonics of this pressing are hot and dense. Subsequent remasters tend to treat the album with a reverential wispy clarity that betrays the underlying fact that, underneath all of its experimental layers, this record was still rock, and meant to be played loud.
