**This example is the rare 606-1 mono 1st pressing with the wrong mix of 'Tomorrow Never Knows'. This mix is known as "Remix 11".

John Lennon insisted this pressing was withdrawn as he didn't like the mix used for this track.

It is the earliest 1st pressing produced way before the release date with the rare XEX - 606 -1 side two mono matrix - only a very few copies made it to the shops before the pressing was changed**

To my knowledge remix 11 of Tomorrow Never Knows has never been made officially available so this is a real must for audio aficionados.

Legend has it that there were only ever 600 copies of this pressing made but I don't know how true that is. What's for certain is that there's clearly only a finite number left.. many of which won't be as good as this one. I definitely wouldn't be selling it if I didn't already have a copy.

Anyway- firstly, the record:

Visually pretty good. Both labels are clean & unmarked showing forgivable spindle wear. Playing surface wise there's very very little damage of note on side A & a couple of light hairline marks on side B. I've tried to show this as best as possible but would be happy to send more pictures if you like. It looks like it's been played but generally properly looked after.

I have play tested this record (no *visual testing only* nonsense) & it sounds as deep & warm as a nicely drawn bath- just like original mono copies should. No jumps or skips & without even much surface noise between tracks. The litmus test with these is generally Here, There & Everywhere which in my experience can sound pretty naughty if you so much look at it the wrong way but on this record sounds lovely all the way through. Great as it is but would go up a grade with a pro clean which I think is probably warranted with such a rarity.

Secondly, the sleeve:

G & L tri- flipback.

Showing general signs of age (specifically light ring wear, light discoloration & a little pen marking on the back) but otherwise strong, clean & basically unmolested with a decent spine. There is tape on the back which might be removable but I'll leave that decision to the buyer.

Track B4 listed as Dr. Robert on both sleeve & label;

KT tax code on side A.

In summary- one of the very rarest Beatles records you'll find anywhere. Admittedly not a vault copy but a pretty bloody decent one at a seldom seen starting price- no reserve. A duff sleeveless copy went for triple figures a few days ago & there are two others listed on ebay for £500.
