The Beatles Rubber Soul 1965 2nd press Times New Roman VG+/VG+ -3/-3
Description
Original flipback 1965 with increasingly rare 2nd press -3/-3 matrix numbers and Times New Roman font in impressive VG+ overall condition.
Cover / Spine /Inners
Flipback cover with lovely glossy front and in overall remarkably good condition. There is some minor creasing with laminate separation in a couple of spots (see photos - particularly front top left, front top right). On very close inspection there are signs of the top centre starting to split (see photo). I hadn’t noticed this until handling the record for several minutes so it’s definitely not too intrusive. The corner dents and ring wear are minimal.
Otherwise there are no splits, tears, biro, residues, etc.
The spine is perfectly legible and sharp, not far off what it would have been new.
There are a few tiny dents at the opening. The matt reverse of the cover does have a few age-related marks and scuffs, with the card showing through the laminate rear top right. However it’s clear that this copy has had a charmed life.
The original Emitex poly-paper inner is a little creased and has some yellowing. However it has no splits or tears, and shows relatively little use consistent with the outer cover.
Vinyl
The heavyweight period vinyl has been cleaned, is glossy and overall close to NM.
On very close inspection there are a few tiny hairlines and tiny blemishes but nothing that affects playback. I can normally show these but there was nothing that I could capture here in a photograph.
Label / Spindle marks
The yellow / silver / black Parlophone labels are in really good condition with the KT tax code stamped on Side 2. Font is Times New Roman.
In my experience these labels really do show spindle wear when angled to the light, but on this one there’s just a couple of marks which, again, I could not capture in a photo. There are hints of foxing, again only when the record is angled to the light.
The labels are otherwise unblemished with no biro, fingerprints, damage, etc.

Postage at cost
The price for postage is essentially at cost - ie: it includes tracked delivery, a new cardboard mailer & new acid-free paper sleeve(s).
The record will be carefully packaged and sent to the UK MAINLAND ONLY. I’ll happily pass on all postage savings net of fees for multiple purchases.

General Statement (exceptions will be clearly noted).
This record is from the collection of a great music fan. Many items were bought new and have been played and enjoyed over 40 or 50 years or so, though carefully selected second-hand items with less provenance have been added over the years.
The collector is fastidious and the sleeves have been kept in pvc covers. The vinyl has been cleaned each time it was played and the quality styluses regularly changed.
He principally curated a collection of 60s / 70s / 80s LPs and 45s across the genres of rock, psychedelia and folk, but his love of music has taken them into other areas - please see my other items for sale.
I have spent time researching the items that I am selling and have done my very best to identify the correct version, but please do message me if you feel there is an error in the listing.
Items are photographed carefully before listing to uniquely identify the vinyl with the sleeve.
The record has been test-played and in our opinion it is more than acceptable for enjoyable listening. There may be the odd pop or scratch in quieter tracks or between tracks.
I have not allowed returns as the item is described and photographed in detail. These are second-hand items and will come with some age-related faults, as do all items other than NM/NM. If there are any problems whatsoever please message me to find a mutually-beneficial solution to maintain100% positive feedback on both sides.
