Description

An original 2nd stereo press of RS on the UK Parlophone label. Matrix 3/3. Please note that this pressing is perfectly consistent with a 1968 2nd pressing in stereo and still holds the 'Sold In The Uk..' statement that was discontinued in 1969. The heavy-set vinyl comes housed in the correct original stereo cover with flipbacks. Also included is the original Emi advertising inner sleeve. So, 100% genuine and 100% complete.
Vinyl (Ex+) A beautiful copy and is precisely what any serious collector is after, having seen only very light use. Under close inspection I could only make out a couple of light marks per side - absolutely nothing even remotely troublesome. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals an EXCELLENT+ level of playback. Intros and inbetweens are pretty much silent and the audio comes across with perfect clarity. I don't think I've heard a better original copy - it really is that good. Even someone fussy is going to like this rendition.. Interference is largely absent. All I could detect were a couple of crackles in a couple of isolated moments per side. And what about "Norwegian Wood" & "Michelle"..because they nearly always present some sort of background>>? very nice and clean ...Michelle, just a couple of light crackles in a couple of spots [way better than what typically surfaces]. Norwegian Wood - really clean..absolutely spot on with silent background. A tremendously well preserved stereo 2nd copy from 1968 - what's not to like? I sincerely doubt you'll find a sweeter, cleaner, preciser original 60's stereo..it's a stunner.
Cover (Ex) A superb looking front cover and it's certainly nice seeing it looking quite that smart. Lovely sheen with only a single tiny crease in the surface laminate - incredibly unusual. The rear looks great too and has avoided the the ageing process in the main section, and there's just light evidence on the flipbacks [this is about as good as it's humanly possible to find]. Edge wear is mostly light and the openings are still sharpish. Extreme top left flipback has creased a little - no big detail. The spine is 100% intact and overall the cover retains excellent rigidity. Impressive.
Inner (Vg+) Light ageing. One edge has split and been taped up.
