Description
For sale is a first UK pressing of the Beatles Rubber Soul on Parlophone records from December 1965. This early mono pressing has come to be known as the ‘Loud Cut’ and is said to have a more aggressive vocal sound than later mixes. The production of these mixes was stopped and the master plates were re-cut.
Black Parlophone labels with yellow and silver matrix numbers: XEX 579-1 / XEX 580-1.
Condition: Sleeve has a 2.5 inch tear across Ringo’s chin in the lower right hand side (pictured) but is otherwise in good condition for the age and only shows the usual creasing that can be expected with laminated sleeves of this nature. Spine is in great condition and the title is clear and unbroken. Record comes in original tracing-paper-lined “Use Emitex” die-cut inner sleeve
The vinyl is good, but has some light marks and has clearly been played a few times. Nothing more than is to be expected for a record of this age and popularity. No skips or pops when tested on my turntable last week. It sounds great!
