Incredibly rare DECCA contract pressing of The Beatles “Rubber Soul” released by Capitol Records on December 3rd, 1965. It’s extremely hard to find this contract pressing, but finding it in a factory sealed condition is simply impossible. This factory sealed copy was pressed after January 7th, 1966 when David and Jonathan released their version of the “Michelle” single cooperating with George Martin and Capitol Records had to equip the covers of “Rubber Soul” with a sticker notifying fans that the album contains the original version of the song sung by Paul McCartney. The rectangular with the rounded corners yellow 1.5” x 3” hype sticker is affixed to the shrink wrap on the front cover reading “Hear Paul Sing ‘Michelle’ Original Beatles’ Version”. This sticker is incredibly rare as most of the albums were issued without it. The lower right-hand corner of the back cover contains the RIAA 8 number indicating that DECCA Records was printing these covers in-house for this issue only in between 1965 and 1966. The Mono cover contains the catalog number T-2442 on the front and back cover, and the bottom of the spine. By this time, “The Beatles” title had already appeared along with the individual band members name on the Capitol Records multicolor band labels. Fantastically rare and collectible copy from a private collection.

I grade this final upgrade factory sealed copy as Mint Minus. The shrink wrap with original breathe holes has some very light age shelf wear but remains fully intact and doesn't have any splits or tears. The only flaw of this copy would be a light crease in the lower left hand corner of the front cover.
