Description

An original MONO 1st copy from 1964 on USA Capitol. Rainbow labels with NO subsidiary text, and NO track timings on the first two tracks of side 2 [this effectively confirms 1st issue]. The vinyl comes housed in an original mono cover with pasted image on the front. We also have an original poly-lined inner from the time too. A bit of a time traveller!
Vinyl (Ex) In lovely shape and has only seen very light use. Look at those '64 labels - highly impressive. Under close inspection I can only make out a couple of light marks per side - nothing heavy or that will enter the audio spectrum [guaranteed!]. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveal an, at least, EXCELLENT level of playback. Plays through really clean. It's dealing out true mono and the audio is killer! I don't think I've ever witnessed an early USA pressing play back like this. Absolute banger! Intros and inbetweens are super clean and the audio comes across without a whisper of background. Nada! A super player which has been cared for - I really think you'd have a hard time just getting close to this one. Expect a couple of crackles in one isolated spot per side. Absolutely superb!
Cover (Vg+) Usually these covers surface looking pretty tired. But this copy is looking like it's just spun straight outa the sixties! The front cover is flat and looking really clean. The usual heavy ageing or surface wear is largely absent. You kind of have to do a double-take and think "is this definitely a '64 copy?"- but it is legit. Again, the rear seems to have escaped most of the ageing process - just a touch creeping in at the extremities. There's hardly any surface wear - it really is smooth to the touch. The spine is superb with minimal wear [much much less than you typically find]. Just a couple of letters on the spine experiencing wear. Edges are hardly worn at all - and the openings are sharp and firm. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity in part thanks to the heavy card employed in manufacture. A truly super level of preservation.
Inner (Ex-) Very little ageing observable. A one inch side split. Very nice looking indeed!
