Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band is the eighth studio album by the English rock band the Beatles. Released on 26 May 1967,[nb 1] Sgt. Pepper is regarded by musicologists as an early concept album that advanced the roles of sound composition, extended form, psychedelic imagery, record sleeves, and the producer in popular music. The album had an immediate cross-generational impact and was associated with numerous touchstones of the era's youth culture, such as fashion, drugs, mysticism, and a sense of optimism and empowerment. Critics lauded the album for its innovations in songwriting, production and graphic design, for bridging a cultural divide between popular music and high art, and for reflecting the interests of contemporary youth and the counterculture.
The outer GATEFOLD cover is good for age. The gatefold is bright, vibrant and glossy with no splits or tears. Shows age wear to the corners, edges, spine. Some dirt, film crinkles, other imperfections as to be expected for an item of this age.
The vinyl has retained a beautiful sheen in appearance and sits flat to the surface. Lovely clean labels and spindle holes. There are a couple of light, surface lines and a light scuff - all of which are non feelable Spindle trails can be seen at an angle.
The green Peter Blake cutouts are perfect as seem to have been kept inside the gatefold.
The often missing Fool's Swirl inner is nice for age - a tiny bit of dirt/age spots as to be expected and a seam split starting to the bottom.
OVERALL A FANTASTIC, ORIGINAL PIECE TO ADD TO YOUR COLLECTION!!!
