Background...

Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band is the eighth studio album by the English rock band the Beatles. Released on 26 May 1967,[nb 1] Sgt. Pepper is regarded by musicologists as an early concept album that advanced the roles of sound composition, extended form, psychedelic imagery, record sleeves, and the producer in popular music. The album had an immediate cross-generational impact and was associated with numerous touchstones of the era's youth culture, such as fashion, drugs, mysticism, and a sense of optimism and empowerment. Critics lauded the album for its innovations in songwriting, production and graphic design, for bridging a cultural divide between popular music and high art, and for reflecting the interests of contemporary youth and the counterculture.

The outer GATEFOLD cover is fabulous for age and shows the much sought after EXTRA WIDE SPINE (8mm instead of the usual 6mm). The gatefold is bright, vibrant and glossy with minimal film crinkles and minor age wear to the corners/edges/ spine as to be expected for an item of this age.

The vinyl has a beautiful glossy sheen and  sits flat to the surface. Lovely clean labels and spindle holes.  There are a handful of light, insignificant, non feelable surface lines and one tiny feelable. Spindle trails can be seen at an angle.

The green Peter Blake cutouts are excellent as seem to have been kept inside the gatefold.

The often missing Fool's Swirl inner is nice for age - a tiny bit of dirt/age spots as to be expected and a seam split starting to the bottom.
