THE BEATLES: ‘SGT PEPPERS LONELY HEARTS CLUB BAND’ – AN ORIGINAL 1967 UK FIRST ISSUE BLACK AND YELLOW PARLOPHONE MONO VINYL LP - PMC 7027
TOTALLY COMPLETE WITH AN AS NEW GATEFOLD SLEEVE & ORIGINAL CUT-OUT, 100% ORIGINAL!
Summary:
No doubt, one of the ICONIC albums of the 20th Century, ‘Sgt Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band’ was released by EMI/Parlophone on the 1st June 1967. It went straight to Number 1, and dominated the top position in the charts for 23 weeks!
Album Description and Condition:
This is an original1967 first issue UK Parlophone mono VINYL LP on the traditional Black & Yellow Parlophone Label, with ‘The Gramophone Co Ltd label’ rim, ‘Sold in the UK….’ and ‘Made in Gt. Britain’ printed to both sides of the record labels.
Side 1 stamped matrix: XEX 637-1 and Side 2: XEX 638-1.
Side 1 stampers: 3 AOD and Side 2: 3 ARO.
There is a KT tax/price code on the side 2 record label.
Both record labels are in Near Mint condition, a very clean set of record labels, NO handwriting or fading to the bold Yellow or Silver Printed text, and just a few very light signs of play to the centre spindle lines to each label.
Both sides of the Vinyl Disc are in superb Excellent Plus condition, showing just a few surface hairlines. (PLEASE NOTE) on the track Being For The Benefit of Mr Kite, there is a small click when John sings, a splendid time is guaranteed for all, this is caused by a small mark that is in the direction of the micro groove, it could be a Manufacturing flaw, but i'm not sure.
Audio Quality:
As expected the album plays beautifully well throughout the tracks – a clear mono sound quality with NO skips, clicks, or pops.
The Vinyl Disc comes in it’s original white inner record bag printed ‘Made in Great Britain which is in Excellent Plus condition, with just mild creasing. And includes an original First Issue card Sgt Pepper Cut-Out, which is also in Near Mint condition.
…..And is protected in it’s original, Beautiful Pristine First Issue Laminated Garrod & Lofthouse Internal Flip back GATEFOLD Sleeve printed ‘PMC 7027 mono’ to the reverse.
This sleeve is in the most immaculate condition that I have seen for a long time, the sleeve looks new and is in Mint condition. The sleeve still retains its beautiful deep glossy rich colours. Laminated to the front, reverse and inner gatefold, the gatefold part of the sleeve has never been opened fully. The spine edge, the edges and corners and the gatefold part of the sleeve are all immaculate.
The gatefold part of this immaculate mono sleeve has never been fully opened.
Without doubt this is the best SGT Pepper mono seen for many years, a beautiful example of one of the most talked about albums of the 20th Century, 100% ORIGINAL and COMPLETE example
