In this auction:

“THE BEATLES SECOND ALBUM” LP by The Beatles

This LP is Capitol Records T 2080.
-
This is a MONO (Monaural) Pressing.

In fact, this is the FIRST MONO PRESSING issued April 10, 1964.

We know this because First Pressings do NOT have the running times for “I Call Your Name” and “Long Tall Sally” on the Side 2 label. (Those running times were added in later 1964 MONO pressings.)

This LP COVER was issued from Capitol Records’ Scranton pressing plant based on the fact that there is NO NUMBER printed at the lower right corner of the rear cover.

The VINYL has a triangle “?” in the trail-off wax. This is the symbol Capitol Records used to identify vinyl pressed at its Scranton Pressing Plant.

Therefore, this cover and vinyl are correctly paired with both being from Capitol’s Scranton pressing plant.

NOTE: Some sellers may intentionally or accidentally switch vinyl and covers in order to create an LP with near mint cover and vinyl. I don’t do that. I always verify covers and vinyl to be correctly matched pressings/issues.

The COVER is in STRONG VG to WEAK VG+ Condition. There is light overall wear. There is a small corner push at the lower left corner and the bottom of that corner is “bald’. There is some light aging/”foxing” present on both front and rear covers. There is a slight 1 & ¾ -inch split in the middle of the top seam and a slight ¾ -inch split in the middle of the bottom seam. There is a small triangular stamp of some kind outlined in purple on the rear cover. This primarily white cover was prone to show wear easily, but this MONO COVER looks quite nice despite the aging. Check the images!

The VINYL is in STRONG VG CONDITION with some light/slight surface hairlines/scuffs (none “feelable”) and lots of gloss.
A NICE COPY of this BEATLES FIRST PRESSING MONO LP to add to your vinyl collection if you are looking for one.
