Looking for a great original copy of Pepper with super audio?... but, perhaps, without spending a fortune....?>>>
An original spring 1970 copy of Pepper on UK Parlophone. Matrix 1/1 [same as 1st cut]. Remember a copy like this comes less than three years from the original release date. The EMI pressings in this period are excellent and were tube-cut like their 60's counterparts. How do we know this copy is from spring 1970? Well, note how the labels exhibit just the one EMI logo - this is the new Parlophone design introduced in autumn 1969. The perimeter text reads 'Gramophone'. The other indicator that we're dealing with an early copy is that there's an error on the gatefold. When they came to re-design the cover in 1970 the printer re-used the original 60's template and, on initial copies, forgot to modify the 'mono recording' down in the bottom right corner. We also have an original inner from the time and the cut-outs sheet. 
Vinyl (Ex/Ex+) In marvellous condition particularly given that this record is in excess of fifty years in age. It has clearly only seen very slight use - take a look at those label shots! Under close inspection I can only make out a couple of very light marks - seemingly nothing heavy or likely to impinge on the audio. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals a mostly EXCELLENT+ level of playback with one slight deviation. Intros and inbetweens are lovely and quiet and the audio comes across with superb clarity. It is so difficult trying to find original copies playing perfect from 1967. So, it makes a lot of sense going for a copy from just a couple of years later. We can offer you a near perfect level of playback consistently. And this means tracks like WYWY and WI64 and She's Leaving Home will play properly clean. It is hellishly difficult finding these three playing clean on the 1st copies. You're going to get a definitive knock-out rendition of this Beatles classic - without spending a fortune. I would argue - -excellent value for money. very little background observable at all. The only deviation - just a couple of very slight ticks in 'WITH A LITTLE HELP'. But to be fair - you'll have to concetrate to even make them out. Highly recommended - from all angles.
Cover (Vg+) In really nice condition and has been looked after down the years. On the front - a couple of thumbnails and only minor handing. The rear exhibits a few minor thumbnails, but has superb colour retention. The interior looks very smart - no issues. Relatively little edge wear and sharp openings. But there is a one inch edge split in the middle of the top seam of the right panel. I have tape repaired internally so it is merely a minor cosmetic issue. The spine looks great with all text fully legible. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity.
Inner (Vg+) Light ageing. Bag present. No splits.
Cut-outs (Ex) very smart - no issues.
