Description
THE BEATLES - Sgt Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band
FRENCH PRESS FROM 1980.
PCS 7027
My Dad bought it in Paris in October 1980.
He thinks the shop was near the Pigalle Metro Station and called ‘Revolutions’.
He recorded it onto cassette and never played it again.
The cover is EX+ with a bright gloss and the lightest of wear.
The inside of the gatefold is pristine.
The INSERT is NM
The labels are NM-
There is possibly one very light spindle mark on Side 2 but it’s negligible.
The VINYL, both visually and aurally, is NM.
It’s simply stunning.
The sound is surprisingly rich and warm for a late 70’s/early 80’s Pressing. They tend to be a little light to my ears, but I am impressed with this one. Nice bass tones. Not too ‘fizzy’ or trebley - if that’s a word!
The matrices are:
SIDE ONE: YEX 637-1 and M6 297254. 1
SIDE TWO: YEX 638-2 and M6 297254. 1
The number 3 is etched into the dead wax on both sides, to the left of the ‘331/3’.
That’s it really. A near perfect copy from 1980’s France. It ain’t a 1967 mono original, but I doubt you’ll find a better copy of a stereo Pressing....
