Description

This is the real deal — a genuine June 1967 UK mono first pressing of Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band.

This copy has all the correct first pressing features:

• Early one matrix stampers: YEX.637-1 (Side 1) and YEX.638-1 (Side 2)
• Fully laminated one-piece gatefold sleeve with flipback glue-tabs
• Original red half-tone psychedelic inner sleeve with “Patents applied for” printed on it
• Original full-colour cut-out insert (with Peter Blake & Jann Haworth signatures)
• Black & yellow Parlophone labels with silver text and “The Gramophone Co.” radial text
• The famous unintelligible vocal loop at the very end of Side B runout (a true first pressing characteristic)

This is not a later reissue. This is one of the very first pressings from the week the album was released, with the correct early matrix numbers and original inner sleeve details.

Condition below :-)

Gatefold Sleeve:
Amazing condition for a 59-year-old first pressing. The artwork is still vibrant and eye-catching. There is the expected edge wear and a couple of small marks from age, but it remains a strong, presentable example.

Original Insert:
Excellent condition and the colours are still bright. A proper highlight of this copy.

Vinyl:
The record is glossy and flat with a really nice sheen. There are some visible hairlines, light scuffs and surface marks (exactly what you’d expect on a 60-year-old pressing that’s actually been played), but nothing deep or nasty. It plays amazingly well — clean, dynamic, and with that proper mono punch. This is about as good as you’re realistically going to find on a first pressing that hasn’t spent its entire life sealed in storage. A very strong playing copy.

This is a proper, honest example of the original 1967 UK mono first pressing with the early one-matrix stampers, original insert, and correct inner sleeve details. These are becoming increasingly hard to find in decent condition.
All photos show the exact item you will receive.
It will be expertly packed with strong protection for the gatefold and vinyl, and shipped fully tracked.

UK & international buyers welcome.

A genuine 1967 UK mono first pressing of Sgt. Pepper’s with one matrix numbers, original insert and “Patents applied for” inner sleeve.

Plays beautifully.
