Description
A Fourth Proof cover of the 1st Pressing of Sgt Pepper on the UK Parlophone label from 1967. Matrix '-1/-1'. Please note this auction is for the record and gatefold cover, there are no cut-outs or original inner sleeve.
Cover (VG+) A really nice example of a hard to find original cover. Front and back are nice and shiny with only minor creasing. There's very little edge wear except for on the spine where the lettering has 50% worn off. No splits and the cover retains a good level of rigidity. The interior of the gatefold is in excellent condition - with the 'Fourth Proof' text above Harrison's head.
Vinyl (G/VG) Has obviously seen a number of plays and remains in reasonable condition. Don't expect miracles here...at best we're talking a very good level of playback for the majority of the record. A bit of light crackling here and there, but none the less a very decent and enjoyable listen. On a couple of the tracks at the end of side one and the first two on side two there's probably a little more crackling than one would normally like. So, please bear this in mind if you consider purchasing - whilst this is still a decent listen it is not hifi by any means.
