Description

The Beatles were an English rock band formed in Liverpool in 1960.  They became regarded as the greatest and most influential act of the rock era.  Their enormous popularity emerged as "Beatlemania", and in 1964 they had become international stars leading the "British Invasion" into the US market.  "Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band"  is their eighth studio album, released in 1967 spending 27 weeks at  #1  in the UK, and 15 weeks at  #1  in the US.  It won  "Album of The Year", the first rock LP to receive this honor.  A fictional Sgt. Pepper Band would give The Beatles' freedom to experiment musically.  In August 1966, The Beatles' retired from touring.  Knowing they would have to perform live tracks, they adopted an experimental approach.  It has become one of the best-selling albums in history.  This is a vinyl picture disc LP produced as a 50th Anniversary Limited Edition.  The new 2017 stereo mix was produced by Giles Martin, son of George Martin, sourced directly from the original four-track session tapes.  The 50th Anniversary was also celebrated with posters, and a variety of novelty items to proudly display your passion.  Even the billboard on Times Square was included as part of the promotion. The vinyl is in mint condition, sealed in cellophane.  The solid white cover shows some handling bends on it's corners.  Thank you for looking.  (Grading Order: Mint, Near Mint, Excellent, Very Good+, Very Good, Good, etc.)
