Description

This is an extremely good example of a very rare album.
PCS 7027
YEX 637-A
YEX 638-B
Nimbus England also in the deadwax
Condition
Vinyl:
Side one is graded as EX +, a few very small hairlines from being taken in and out of the sleeve. There is also a small mark in the deadwax but does
not intrude onto the playing surface.
Side two is graded as EX++, same as side one just without the mark in the deadwax
Both sides have been played on our £4000 Michell turntable and the record playes perfectly, It will also be cleaned on our Clearaudio record cleaner before dispatch.
I have deliberatly been conservative with my grading of the vinyl
Sleeve: Near mint. A few small creases only
Insert: Mint, looks untouched.
Some addtional info about this pressing
Beatles - Sgt Pepper - Nimbus Supercut Audiophile LP
Beatles Sgt Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band is of course a sonic tour de force and one of the rarest and most sought after Nimbus Supercut LPs - a holy grail release that many have said is the best sounding version EVER - on any format. This mail order only release is rarely seen - even less so in such stunning, near mint condition. Read on for more details...
Audiophile Mastering
Nimbus Supercut LPs were released as a mail order only promotion to Practical Hi-Fi and Hi-Fi today magazine readers during the early 1980s. All Nimbus Supercut releases were available in limited quantities of around 1000 pressings per title, and as such, many are rarely seen for sale and are arguably rarer than releases from Mobile Fidelity, Nautilus, DCC, etc.
Nimbus established the need for high quality vinyl pressings at a time when most mainstream vinyl which was haphazardly mastered and pressed on poor quality recycled vinyl.
In contrast, Nimbus Supercut releases were mastered from the the original master tapes, through an all valve mastering process, using no limiting, to result in a high quality pressing which was as close as possible in sound to the original recording. Nimbus also had ICI produce an extremely pure vinyl for this release, which has exceptional frequency reproduction and is virtually noise free.
