Description
A lovely stereo copy of The Beatles - Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band, PCS 7027. Originally released in 1967, this is a 1973 reissue ( using the original 1967 metalwork) pressed in France for the UK market.
Please see photos for matrix numbers/mothers/stampers.
The record has been cleaned in our amazing Degritter and the vinyl has come up spotlessly clean with a lovely gloss. There is a visible scuff mark on Side 1( see photo) on Fixing A Hole and a faint hairline on Side 2 but please see playnotes below. Graded VG+ but plays closer to EX.
We played to test on our Rega Naia turntable with Aphelion 2 cartridge paying particular attention to the marked area. A delightfully warm and vibrant sound, with wonderful stereo imagery ( The "circus" music on Benefit Of Mr. Kite is amazing - the sounds move around and across the speakers to convey movement - a delight!). The delicacy of the instruments on She's Leaving Home is genuinely moving & emotional.
Fixing A Hole plays through the mark with rotational clicks but did not jump or skip. The whole album plays through well with no issues & is extremely enjoyable.
The laminate gatefold Garrod & Lofthouse sleeve is solid, sturdy &very clean with vibrant print colour retained. A few creases, no real laminate peel except for a minor area to the spine. Edges & corners showing light age related wear. No writing, splits, stains, tears or ugly tape repairs.
The Peter Blake cut out sheet is present & unused.
A paper inner sleeve is present, however we have popped the record into a new poly lined inner sleeve to keep it pristine after cleaning - you will receive both.
A lovely copy to own, play & enjoy of this essential album, fully cleaned & tested, ready to pop straight onto your turntable & blast out!
We have taken lots of photos in good natural daylight so you can see exactly what you are buying. Please take a moment to look at the pictures as they form part of the description.
