Incredibly rare Stereo version of The Beatles “Songs, Pictures and Stories of the Fabulous Beatles”. Unique ¾ fold-over gatefold cover with an ultra rare 2⅛" x ¼" red  Day-Glo sticker with black “STEREO” text. The cover remains in the original protective “Sears Roebuck and Co.” baggy. This copy contains the incredibly rare true Stereo Vee-Jay Records labels with an “S” postfix after the “VJLP” catalog number, which is absent on the majority of Stereo issue copies. This is not the only feature that makes this vinyl incredibly collectible. The vinyl contains both variations of the existing Stereo label, Version 1 present on Side 1 containing the “Love Me Do” track and Version 2 on Side 2 with the “Please, Please Me” track. Without any doubts these hybrid labels come across incredibly rarely. The labels have a different Vee-Jay logo with Side 1 having the oval logo and Side 2 containing the brackets logo. There is one more difference. The “Stereo” banner is positioned at 9 o’clock on Side 1 and at 3 o’clock on Side 2. The vinyl pressed at the Monarch Los Angeles plant contains a “△” (Delta) number and the “MR in Circle” stamps along with the “S” postfix identifying the recording format as Stereo. The full matrix numbers are as follows: S 63-3402-S URJ △6313 MR in Circle / S 63-3403-S URJ △6313x MR in Circle. The album comes with an original red background Vee-Jay Records inner sleeve.

I grade the cover as somewhere between Strong Very Good Plus and Excellent Minus. It's very clean overall having only some light overall shelf wear on the front and back, which also has a very light hint of ring wear at the bottom. Some very light soiling on the corners along with a light bumping to the bottom left corner. The cover doesn't have any splits or writing. The gatefold interior is in clean Excellent condition. The rigid spine contains a fully readable text. The original red background Vee-Jay inner sleeve is in Near Mint Minus condition and doesn't have any splits. I grade the vinyl as Strong Very Good. It retains its glossy factory lacquer but has some light harilines and marks along with some light scuffs from the inner sleeve. The clean labels are somewhere between Very Good Plus and Excellent Minus only having a few light spindle marks, but are scuff- and wear-free. The vinyl plays well throughout having some occasional light static, which becomes more evident during the quiet passages. It's most likely, the amount of static could get reduced if the record is professionally cleaned using a VPI machine.
