THE BEATLES ~ SOUVENIR OF THEIR VISIT TO AMERICA
MONARCH RECORDS PRESSING
PLANT LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA

Very early 1st pressing 45 RPM, usually referred to as an EP, extended play copy of The Beatles Souvenir of Their Visit. This copy was pressed at the Monarch Records pressing plant and has a partially visible "MR in Circle" machine stamped identifier in the runout groove on both sides. Many copies of this EP are missing the identifier as it's always covered by the labels. However, on this copy it's covered only partially. Another interesting feature of this copy is that its black labels with a color band and [VJ] brackets logo at the center top are uncharacteristic of the Monarch pressing with its condensed thin font and can be found on the copies pressed by American Record Pressing Co., MI. It is the copies pressed by this company that show the title of "Ask Me Why" song printed in a larger font than the rest of the song titles, as can also be seen on the Side 2 label of this copy. The full matrix numbers with the "MR in Circle" and delta numbers, the identifiers of the Monarch pressing plant, and "URJ" stamp, identifying the mastering by Universal Recording Studios, are as follows: Side 1 - 64-3915 URJ ∆51772 MR in Circle; Side 2 - 64-3916 URJ MR in Circle ∆51772-x. Original 1st print cardboard special promotional picture sleeve that Vee-Jay made to accompany these promo singles remains in the original protective baggy.
★
The cover in the original protective baggy is in Excellent condition with the intact wear and scuff-free edges and corners, only having some light age shelf wear at the center of back cover. Side 1 of the vinyl is graded as Excellent Minus with Side 2 being in Very Good Plus condition. The vinyl has some very light surface scuffs from the inner sleeve and just a couple of super light non-feelable hairlines. The clean labels are in Excellent condition with only some very light age shelf wear but don't have any spindle marks. The vinyl sounds great with only some light occasional background noise during the quiet passages which is most likely just the static and will go away completely if the record is professionally cleaned using a VPI cleaning machine.
