Description

Hello everyone,
You're looking at an absolutely magnificent copy of "The Beatles' Story" on double-LP, issued in 1964. This set contains some performances by the Beatles, the Hollyridge Strings and interviews with the Lads. This is a very rare 1/2/3/4 Variant RCA pressing of this record, meaning side 1 is backed by side 2, and side 3 is backed by side 4. The typical configuration for the Capitol Scranton and LA pressings is 1/4/2/3 (side 1 backed with side 4, and so on), so that a radio station or listener could have side two ready to go without pause/switch the side. It is unknown how many were pressed by the RCA contractor, however, these are much rarer than the typical 1/4/3/2 pressings. If you follow Bruce Spizer/Perry Cox cataloging methodology, the number is CAP 2222.MC1 (cover) and CAP 2222.MR1B(ii) (vinyl).
The main feature of this album is the uncompromising condition and quality of this particular example. As you can see from the photo, the cover is as close to NM as it can be without still being sealed. Extremely faint ring wear, but no seam splits. Everything is crisp. It comes with the original plain Capitol inner sleeves. The vinyl is being housed in two separate MoFi protective sleeves outside of the cover, for the protection of both the cover and the vinyl.
