Description

The Beatles – The Decca Tapes (Clear Vinyl)

This remarkable release resurrects the legendary January 1, 1962, audition when The Beatles attempted to secure a record deal with Decca Records—before Decca famously turned them down, deeming “guitar groups” passé. Captured here are all 15 raw and revealing tracks from that pivotal session, now available on a pristine clear 180 g vinyl pressing by Second Records. Far more than a curiosity, this LP offers an intimate sonic snapshot of the band on the verge of history.

🎵 Album Highlights

  • Contains the full Decca audition—12 covers and 3 Lennon–McCartney originals, including rarely heard tracks like "Hello Little Girl" and "Love of the Loved."

  • Pressed on transparent 180 g vinyl with a stylish die-cut sleeve replica of the original bootleg packaging.

  • Released on September 2, 2022, by Second Records (Catalog SRPD0011CV, barcode 9003829977912).

✔️ Key Features

  • Authentic historical recordings – captures the band pre-Ringo Starr and their early stage presence.

  • High-quality pressing – 180 g transparent vinyl ensures clarity and warmth.

  • Complete 15-track session spanning both sides of the LP.

  • Collector-friendly die-cut sleeve mimics the vibe of the vintage bootleg.

  • Limited, territory-aware availability – not sold in USA, Germany, Austria, Switzerland.

  • Unofficial but meticulously produced – backed by Second Records’ remastering and pressing expertise.

❤️ Why You’ll Love It
