Terms/FAQ:

Who are you?  I’m nervous about buying from someone with zero feedback.

Good question.  I am a private collector of records and CD’s.  I am not a professional seller.  I have been an eBay and PayPal member in good standing since 1999 with over 800 feedback rating.  Unfortunately some unscrupulous members in another category started tampering with my auctions this year.  So I decided to start fresh with a new store selling only music items.  I assure you I am an honest and reputable person, not some fly by night punter.

What is your record grading scale?

I use 3 wide grade categories.  I grade conservatively as I would want a record I buy to be graded.   By using only 3 grades, I avoid the potential for disappointment.  Some sellers have FIVE grades of Excellent!  Ex--,Ex-, Ex, Ex+, Ex++.    Stop the madness! 

There is no mistaking VG for EX or EX for NM in my system.  Excellent means anything Excellent all the way up to just shy of Near Mint. 

Grades are given as vinyl / outer sleeve / inner sleeve-poster, etc if included.  The records are visual graded only.  I no longer own a turntable.  I have not personally played all of these.  They have all been cleaned on a machine within the past 6 months, and should be mainly free of dust and debris.  However static is still possible as the weather is getting dry now.

Mint – doesn’t exist.  Be afraid of any seller giving this grade for used records.  I have bought “Still Sealed” records which had inner artwork damage and scuffs on the vinyl.

Near Mint – like it was just opened, rare for used records. 

Excellent – Used but well cared for copy.  A copy 99% of buyers will be happy with and not feel the need to upgrade.  Vinyl will have minor scuffs or scratches but still be glossy.  Labels can have spindle wear.  Sleeves and inserts can have minor ringwear, edgewear, fading, splits on edges, or corner creases.  95% of my records are in this grade. 

Very Good – Generally the same issues as EX but more severe or greater quantity. Vinyl will have much more noticeable scuffing, scratches or noise. However this is still a playable copy.   Sleeves will have noticeable wear, fading or discoloration possibly including sticker damage.    

Promos/Cut Corners/ -  these will be clearly noted.

How does it sound?

I’m not able to playgrade records anymore, I do not currently possess a turntable, or the time to review every record.

Does it include…?

Unless otherwise stated, all LP/12” records include a high quality clear outer sleeve, and an additional high quality anti-static inner sleeve.   Everything else included is pictured.  If there is no unique inner sleeve, poster, etc. shown in the photo, then its not included.  If I know an insert is missing I will note that, but I may not always know.

Are these official/original records?

Yes, all records I sell are original pressings purchased from reputable dealers, not reissues or unauthorized copies.  THESE ARE THE REAL DEAL!

Can you tell me what the matrix/deadwax says?

In general if there is anything noteworthy or unique such as 1A or 1U, I have already mentioned it.  Please refer to Discogs release number I provide for more detailed information. 

Can you provide more/bigger/better pictures?

No, I’m sorry I’m equipped with camera phone only at this time and have done the best I can.

Will you split up this group of records I don’t want all of them?

No, if I have grouped records together this is to keep fees and shipping costs down.

No definitely not.

Hey, why do you charge so much to ship to my country?

It is extremely expensive to ship records from the US packed securely with proper tracking.  I cannot offer a cheaper international shipping option, I’m sorry about this.

Hey, why don’t you ship to my country?

I only ship to select countries which I am comfortable do not have fraud or delivery issues.

Can I get a discount if I win multiple items?

For US bidders, No since shipping is already free.  

For international bidders, Yes I will try if possible.

How will records be shipped?

In the US - Media Mail.

Outside the US - US Priority Mail shipping WITH TRACKING.  This is the only method I will use, and it is expensive.  I am sorry, it sucks for me too.

Will you pack the records well?

YES!  They will be packed in the standard record mailers with the records outside the sleeve and additional cardboard on either side.  Additional bubble wrap may be used for larger lots as needed.  My packing meets or exceeds the standard of the majority of pro used mail order sellers I have dealt with over the years.  I know how much it sucks to find that record you are looking for and then it shows up damaged because the shipper couldn't be bothered to pack it properly, and then you have to argue about a refund. 

Will you double box, add extra padding, tie a special bow around it for me etc.?

No, I will do what I said above and nothing more.   I assure you my packaging will not only be sufficient but better than most.  Please do not bid if you have special shipping expectations I cannot meet.

What if there is a problem when I receive the record?

Please do not expect a problem.  I can’t stress this enough.  You will get what I advertised.  Period.  In the rare case that something goes wrong I will make it right. 

At the same time I am not a chain store.  I do not take returns or modify or cancel transactions if you change your mind or decide you bid too much.  

Final Word…

Part of my goal with every sale is to ensure that the eBay trading community which I have supported from its earliest days continues to exist to serve my needs.  I reserve the right to cancel bids or auctions for any reason.  I would like to thank the 99% of eBayers who are honest people who make this a worthwhile place to conduct business.
