Description
The Beatles; WITH THE BEATLES, WITH EMITEX (polythene lined), and rare dark Robert Freeman sleeve. Tested. Garrod & Lofthouse flip-back. Jobete mis-press. ‘Gotta Hold’ to sleeve and label, and KT tax code embossed to side 2. 1 Mother to side 2.
NOTE. NOT PLAY TESTED, THUS, BOUGHT AS SEEN. NO RETURNS.
Complete and original U.K. Album, issued by Parlophone (yellow & black labels) in 1963. (PMC 1296) Mono. ‘Parlo’ Co. Ltd’ perimeter print and ‘Recording First Published’ 1963. Incorrect ‘Jobete’ publishing credit for money. Housed in the original polythene lined Emitex inner. KT tax code to side 2. Matrix numbers XEX 447-1N & 448-1N.
This is the true first press. ‘Jobete’ credit, ‘You Really Gotta Hold On Me’ credit to both sleeve and sleeve. Large Mono to the Garrod & Lofthouse flip-back sleeve. Matrice Numbers 447-1N & 448-1N.
Also housed in the original Polythene lined die-cut inner Emitex ‘protect your records’ inner sleeve, which all first press copies were housed in, as opposed to the tracing-paper lined inner.
VINYL. VISUAL: VG/VG+
VG/VG+ playing surfaces, with some marks/hairlines/light scratches to both sides, just as you’d expect from a 60yr old record.
SLEEVE: VG+.
THE RARER DARKER ROBERT FREEMAN COVER, WITH JUST THEIR RIGHT EYES VISIBLE.
Most ‘With The Beatles’ sleeves are lighter in tone (see last photo), with less shading.
The front laminate retains much of its original lustre, and deep dark colour. It does have some ringing, creasing, and some feathering.
The rear is graffiti free, though with a few marks, age ware, and a little scuffing, and what looks like some white ink to top left. There’s no lifting of the Garrod & Lofthouse flip-backs. Track listing shows ‘You Really GOTTA Hold On Me’, as it does on the label.
All four corners are strong, as is the spine, with just sine creasing and scuffing.
EMITEX POLY-LINED INNER - EXCELLENT
The original poly-lined inner, is in great shape. No seam splits, graffiti, or tares. Some creasing, with the vinyl housed inside an audiophile quality anti-static inner, to protect the record. Excellent.
LABELS: EXCELLENT.
‘You Gotta Hold’ and ‘Jobete’ to side 2.
Side 1:
Clean, graffiti free, bright, though with some spindle ware/centre hole ware.
Side 2: KT EMBOSSED TAX CODE.
As above, but with more ware to centre hole.

So in conclusion, this is a first press Mono, of The Beatles second album, Jobete press, incorrect spelling to sleeve and label of ‘You Really Gotta Hold’, KT tax code, with the record housed in its original poly-lined Emitex inner. Overall grading of VG/VG+. Please note, as stated above, it’s bought as seen, as it’s not been play tested. Thus, no returns.
