Description

The Beatles - The Beatles [White album].
Sleeve - VG. Top-loading, embossed, laminated, numbered, very good condition. Numbered No. 0362845. Stamped "stereo" on back cover, top right. Crease on the front in the bottom right corner is most significant defect as well as some discolouration.
Black paper inners, polythene lined. In okay condition, polythene is coming away from the paper in one and has come away completely in the other.
Record G. Mono pressing PMC-7067/8, runout matrix numbers XEX-709-2 (side 1), XEX-710-1 (side 2), XEX 711-1 (side 3), XEX-712-1 (side 4). The discs are covered in surface marks. Both discs play through with significant crackle and signs of groove damage in louder sections. On my equipment the only skip was at the end of Blackbird. I would describe the sound as listenable as background music - the defects would be distracting in a listening session particularly on headphones but alright if you're doing something else.
Records, inners and sleeve appear to be genuine originals from around 1969. Why the cover says stereo and the records mono I don't know - possibly they were assembled wrongly by the original retailer, or they've been put together later by a previous owner.
No photos/poster.
