Description
This is an early USA pressing of The White Album from The Beatles. It was pressed in Jacksonville, Illinois. It is a transitional copy, which means that it was a early release put into a later (1970, 1971) jacket. The first issues had serial numbers stamped on them, this does not have that.
You can tell that it was pressed in Jacksonville because it is stamped O in the runout, and the matrix code has a "J" in it.
It is definitely not a first press because side 1 track 4 "Ob-La-Di, Ob-La-Da" in the first pressing was spelled "Obladi Oblada". Side 1 track 6 is spelled "The Continuing Story of Bungalow Bill", on the first pressing it was just "Bungalow Bill". Side 4, Tracks 1 & 5 are corrected to "Revolution 1" and "Revolution 9", on the first pressing they were "Revolution No. 1" and "Revolution No. 9". Finally on Side 2 track 5 it is spelled "Rocky Racoon" instead of Raccoon which wasn't caught until later. So it is definitely an early press, but not a first press.
