Description
• An original First UK Pressing of the 1968 UK Apple mono recording of "The Beatles" (better known as "The White Album"). With a serial number (on the front of the album cover) of 0160501. Catalogue number is PMC 7067/7068. This double vinyl mono album has all the correct markings of a First UK Pressing (sometimes referred to as a "First Issue") i.e. the gated sleeve has a top opening; the vinyl bears the dark green Apple labels and the text "an EMI recording" on sides 3&4 (but not on sides 1&2); sides 1&2 bear the cat. no. PMC 7067 and XEX 709/710. Sides 3&4 bear the cat. no. PMC 7068 and XEX 711/712. Of course there were extras with this album but not all copies still have them intact. This one has the full package. There are 4 full colour glossy portraits, one of each band member and they are in mint condition. No tears, rips, not even a crease. The colour has not faded one iota either. The poster/lyric sheet is also intact and in excellent condition. Please check out the photos for confirmation of the state of these "extras". The 2 vinyl albums are also in mint condition with no scratches, marks etc. These records have not been played for over 40 years but they have been carefully and lovingly stored in a safe and suitable environment. The original matte black inner record sleeves are still present and are in great condition. The gated album cover itself is intact with no tears, rips or dog-earing. There are minor signs of age with a little yellowing in the colour and the the circular shape of the albums is evident on the front and rear cover but these are hardly noticeable and certainly do not detract from the overall appearance. The embossed "The Beatles" logo is very clear as is the serial number (0160501). Again, please check out the photos to see the evidence. Great tunes too - Back In The USSR, Blackbird, Helter Skelter, Ob-La-Di, While My Guitar Gently Weeps etc. This is an original example of this iconic 1968 double album by the most famous band in history. It is in mint/excellent condition and all the extras are present. Ringo's own personal copy (no. 0000001) sold for some $790,000 so this is a bargain!
