Offered for sale is an original 1968 UK Apple Records ** First Issue Mono ** two vinyl LP Set for The Beatles 1968 White Album, entitled
‘The BEATLES’. Aka "The White Album."
Low numbered No.0070997 Gatefold Sleeve.
This Set is 100% complete, with one variation:
--> The four UK Photograph inserts are as follows: Ringo, Paul, George, Ringo. For some reason there are 2 Ringo Starr photo inserts. and no John Lennon photo insert. I purchased this album 25 years ago from 'Let it Be' Records in SF, and the inserts were like this when I bought it.
Note: I will include with this purchase a US White Album John Lennon photo insert. In addition to the 4 listed above.
Description/Condition:
The two First Issue mono Vinyl LPs are on the traditional Dark Green Apple Record labels, all with the following label text: "Sold In U.K, subject to resale price conditions, see price lists"
All four sides of the vinyl discs are in Excellent condition, all 4 sides of the LPs are free from any significant scratches and scuffs, and still retain their gloss shine.
Each vinyl LP comes in their original Matt Black Die Cut Inner Bags which are in Good condition, the bags do have some light creasing and a little folding, and one has a small tear on the upper right corner. (visible in photo)
They are housed in their original Garrod and Lofthouse Gatefold Sleeve. This first issue sleeve is Top Opening and has a No.
0070997, printed to the lower right portion of the front of the sleeve. The wording ‘The BEATLES’ is embossed and printed a little way up above the number.
The Original Fully Laminated Gatefold sleeve is in Very Good condition. The sleeve is firm, clean, and glossy, with a clear number, with mild age toning.
The inner gatefold section of the sleeve opens out to reveal Black and White Images of each of Beatle, together with the song track listing. It is in Very Good to Excellent condition, well preserved, only mild age toning. The reverse panel of the sleeve is also undamaged and shows only very mild age toning.
The spine edge of the sleeve is firm, with some light age toning, and some creasing. The printed wording ‘The Beatles, Mono PMC 7067-8‘ are legible. There are NO seam splits to any of the edges, there are just mild corner bumps.
