Description
Offered here is the hard-to-find white vinyl UK pressing of The Beatles, Apple PCS 7067-8 (stereo), a special "UK pressed for the US market" 1978 "10th anniversary" edition of a great Beatles album, complete and in nice condition. The original pressings of The Beatles (the "white album") made available in the US were, from a sonic standpoint, somewhat disappointing. This shortcoming was eventually addressed through this subsequent pressing which used the widely-heralded Neumann lathe. Sides 1, 2, and 4 of the four record sides grade as strong VG++, side 3 as a solid VG+; while a few minor surface scuffs/imperfections are present, there are no flaws of sonic (listening) consequence. The audibly potent and dynamic presence of this pressing is remarkable; such sound is simply missing on CD (but tip the cap, please, for the efforts of Doc Ebbetts). The Beatles' musicianship is strong and deep and obvious; you will not be disappointed. Both records are perfectly flat with a bright sheen (see the photos). The Garrod and Lofthouse (yes, it's a UK product for the US market) jacket is in very good condition, with no writing or marks on the jacket or photos or poster or record labels. The spine is fully readable but somewhat worn from age and inevitable wear from opening and closing the gatefold; no seam splits top or bottom. Original white inner sleeves are included. The poster and four photographs are intact, included, and in nice condition. There are thirty performances on two LP records. Records will be properly separated from the jacket for shipment.
Please NOTE: this record jacket is NOT in shrink wrap but I have used my shrinkwrapped "other" copy as a background in two of the photos of the actual records for sale; like each record photo, all other jacket photos show the actual item. Regarding grading: I only use NM with records that are realistically indistinguishable from new; the next broad category is "VG" with its variations. I do not use "EX" as a grade.
